1. Physical Properties

Appearance and Shape: A106-A carbon steel pipe is usually a long round tube with a smooth surface, which helps to reduce friction resistance during fluid transportation. Its color is generally black, because the surface of the steel pipe is usually treated with some anti-rust treatment, such as painting or oxidation.

Density: The density of carbon steel is approximately between 7.8-7.85g/cm³, which makes A106-A carbon steel pipe have a certain weight. In the design and installation of the piping system, it is necessary to consider the impact of its deadweight on the supporting structure. Thermal conductivity: Carbon steel is a good conductor of heat, and A106-A carbon steel pipe is no exception. Its relatively high thermal conductivity gives it certain advantages in some applications that require heat transfer (such as heat exchangers), but in cases where insulation is required, additional insulation measures may be required.

Mechanical properties Strength: The minimum yield strength is 330MPa, and the tensile strength is between 415 – 585MPa, which makes it able to withstand a certain internal pressure and is suitable for low-pressure fluid transportation for general purposes. 2. Chemical properties

Corrosion resistance

General environment: In a dry air environment, a thin oxide film will form on the surface of A106-A carbon steel pipe, which can prevent further oxidation of the steel pipe to a certain extent. However, in a humid environment, especially in air containing salt or acidic substances, its corrosion resistance will decrease.

Special environment: In a solution containing corrosive chemicals (such as acid and alkali), A106-A carbon steel pipe is prone to chemical reaction and corrosion. For example, in a strong acidic environment, the iron in the steel pipe will react with the acid to generate corresponding salt and hydrogen.

Oxidation resistance: In a high temperature environment, the oxidation reaction rate of A106-A carbon steel pipe is limited. As the temperature increases, the oxidation reaction rate on its surface will accelerate, resulting in the thickening of the oxide film. Long-term high temperature may reduce the strength and toughness of the steel pipe. However, in a relatively low temperature air environment, the oxidation reaction is relatively slow, and its performance can be maintained to a certain extent.

In the petrochemical industry, it can be used to transport general crude oil, natural gas and various chemical raw materials, such as connecting pipes between oil storage tanks, which can withstand a certain pressure to ensure stable fluid transmission.
